One day before the home match against PAOK FC in the UEFA Europa Conference League, head coach Dino Toppmöller and midfielder Hugo Larsson answered questions from the media. They spoke about topics including…
... the state of play:
Dino Toppmöller: “It's important that we build on the performance in the first match - with good discipline, a good structure as well as the right level of emotion and intensity. We're aware of the importance and we want first place. We’ll be well prepared, the boys are making a good impression and the atmosphere is good. But we also know it won’t be an easy task. PAOK have only lost two games this season.”
Hugo Larsson: “I have a good feeling. One of the reasons I joined Frankfurt is to play in games like this. The match against Stuttgart disappointed all of us a little, but we’ve put that behind us now. We’re focusing on the game against PAOK, we want to produce a good performance and win. That’s our aim.”
... the Group G table:
Dino Toppmöller: “"We want to have our destiny in our own hands. That's why we must and want to win the game tomorrow."”
We’ve progressed well in recent weeks. We have to take our chances. I’m optimistic we’ll win the game.
Head coach Dino Toppmöller
... the approach:
Dino Toppmöller: “We need a similar performance to the first match, although we need to be a bit better at defending set pieces. We’ve progressed well in recent weeks. We have to take our chances. I’m optimistic we’ll win the game.”
... the team news:
Dino Toppmöller: “Robin Koch won’t be involved tomorrow but we’re cautiously optimistic that he’ll be back in the squad against Augsburg on Sunday. We’ll then have to see how it is in terms of playing time. Jens Petter Hauge has a minor back problem, which is why he dropped out at short notice on Saturday. He won’t be in the squad tomorrow. Timothy Chandler has a muscular problem in his calf – he’s in a race to be fit.”
