The sporting tribunal of the German Football Association DFB has suspended Eintracht defender Simon Falette for two Bundesliga games due to “unsporting behaviour”, as set out in writing by tribunal chairman Hans E. Lorenz.
Falette received a straight red card from referee Dr Felix Brych after a last man challenge on Stuttgart’s Simon Terodde. The resulting free-kick did not lead to a goal, so the regular punishment of two games in such instances was imposed.
A corresponding request from the DFB supervisory committee was accepted in advance. The ruling is therefore final.
The Eagles went on to win the match 2-1 despite being one man down for around half an hour; Sebastien Haller scored a last minute match winner with a cracking goal (see interview below).
