Dear Eintracht Frankfurt members,
On this very day 20 years ago, I became president of Eintracht Frankfurt. A new period in my life began on 1 August 2000, and one that has changed me profoundly – and on a very personal level. Over the past 20 years, I have invested a great deal of energy and strength in my role every day and have always received wonderful support from the members of the club, including in the fact that I have been re-elected to the office on six occasions. I cannot put into words just how much this recognition means to me.
That our club has established such a solid structure is thanks in no small part to the great numbers of committed Eintracht members, whom I am privileged to continue to represent. Whether they are active players or fans in the stands, they – and we – all sport the same Eagles on our jersey, and in our hearts. Over the past two decades, we have stood side-by-side through all sorts of highs and lows, and increased membership numbers from 4,900 to over 90,000. Eintracht now encompasses more than 50 different types of sport in 18 different sections and has become one of the world’s biggest multi-disciplinary clubs with a professional football team. Right from the outset, it was my aim to be a president for all members – for sports players and fans in equal measure.
This club has become my family, with people and values that I love and who have always been there for me. A family that spurs me on to new heights every day. That makes me proud and fills me with incredible gratitude. I look forward to many more magic moments and all the challenges that the future holds for our club.
Stay safe! Kind regards,
Peter Fischer
