Lucky Charms from Ireland

The Eagles get plenty of support from all over the world. Quite often some travelling supporters pay a visit to games as well.

And so a fairly new Eintracht fan club - so far inofficial - from Ireland made their way over for the "Hesse Derby" against Darmstadt 98 at the beginning of February. The group of Bohemian FC supporters, a mid-table team of Ireland's Premier Division (SSE Airtricity League) based in Dublin, have been coming over a few times already since one of their members had been working in Frankfurt. No need to mention that he started going to Eintracht matches and the rest is - as they say - history.

Same Colours - Same Spirit

The Bohemians also play in black and red as their club colours, a perfect match for the lads; and they liked the Eintracht fans, the spirit of SGE and of course the atmosphere at home games. Before heading for the derby they watched Scotland v Ireland - Rugby that is - in a pub in Frankfurt/Bockenheim. At Commerzbank Arena they visited the Eintracht Museum and were welcomed by a delegation of EintrachtTV (see clip below).

Lucky Charm Singalong & Predictions

At the museum they put up an Ireland flag, explained their love for Eintracht and why they chose us over Mainz (good point well made). Their prediction for the derby? Eintracht would win 2-0 it was foretold by the lads, and so SGE did in a tense but deserved win with goals of Makoto Hasebe and Ante Rebic. Well thank you guys, for the great support - we hope to see you again soon!
