Different goals, same passion

Two clubs with very different aims meet at the rewirpower-Stadion on Friday evening as VfL Bochum host Eintracht Frankfurt (kick off: 20:30 CET).

The hosts remain precariously placed just four points above the drop zone thanks to a dip in form which has seen them lose each of their last three matches whilst picking up just a single win in their last nine.

Home advantage

Nonetheless, VfL will take heart from the fact that the last three meetings between these two sides has been won by the home team. Bochum are also Frankfurt's bogey team - Friday's hosts have racked up 23 victories over the Eagles in the past, more than they have against any other Bundesliga opponent.

Heiko Herrlich will be without the suspended Milos Maric so expect Andreas Johansson to deputise once again, while Zlatko Dedic could be an option on the left of midfield.

Miserable record in the Ruhr

The visitors, meanwhile, still harbour dreams of sneaking a European spot and will go into the match full of confidence following last week's sensational 2-1 victory over league leaders Bayern München. Still, Frankfurt last won in Bochum almost 15 years ago, and of late have only managed a single point from their last three away games.

The good news for Eintracht boss Michael Skibbe is that Maik Franz, Patrick Ochs and Selim Teber are all available for selection following suspension, while youngster Sebastian Jung, who impressed against Bayern as rightback last week, may feature on the left side replacing the injured Christoph Spycher.
