“Alario and Borré are very close”

Oliver Glasner is counting on a powerful attack at Bochum despite the absence of Randal Kolo Muani. The head coach also gave an update on Mario Götze.

Oliver Glasner on ...

...the away match at Bochum: “I’m expecting highly motivated opponents. Bochum are a very strong, physical team. I expect them to try to cause us problems with their quick forwards. We’re prepared for that”

...team news: “Randal Kolo Muani is unavailable because of his suspension. We have a lot of good attacking players who can compensate for the loss of Kolo Muani. Lucas Alario and Rafel Borré are very close to a place in the starting eleven to replace Kolo Muani. Mario Götze trained today without any problems and will definitely play if he’s at 100%.”

I never look at where a team are in the table. We need wins and positive memories in order to stay fresh.

Head coach Oliver Glasner

..preparing to face a new coach: “For me it’s not more complicated because I’m always given excellent material from the analysts. Of course, though, it’s obviously easier when you have several matches to analyse and not just one match, which is now the case with Bochum under Thomas Letsch. We’ll still be well prepared. We always know what intentions the opposition have and where their strengths and weaknesses are. Our analysts do a great job in that respect.”

...the significance of the table: “We can beat the leaders and lose to the bottom side in our next match. In Bochum, we’ll also go into the game feeling mentally fresh and motivated. I never look at where a team are in the table. We need wins and positive memories in order to stay fresh, which is why I think the last few weeks have done us a lot of good. Now we’re looking forward to an away match in front of 25,000 fans.”
