No joy for Hrustic or Borré

Australia let two points slip at the death, while Colombia suffered a narrow loss to Argentina.

Having twice been in front, Australia had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Oman in Asian World Cup qualifying. Ajdin Hrustic was brought on in the 62nd minute and played around half an hour.

As things stand, the Socceroos are third in the table and would qualify for the play-offs, as only the top two in the two groups go through to the finals in Qatar. With two rounds of matches left, though, it’s still all to play for.

Hopes fading for Colombia and Borré

It’s looking less promising for Colombia and Rafael Borré in the South American section after a 1-0 defeat to Argentina, which the Eintracht striker watched from the bench. The result leaves the Colombians in seventh place, four points shy of fifth-placed Peru in the play-off spot.
