“We’re disappointed”

Adi Hütter and his players felt Eintracht were on the right track against Wolfsburg before slipping to a 2-1 defeat.

Head coach Adi Hütter: “We’re all very frustrated that we weren’t able to win. The lead did us a lot of good and was by no means undeserved after Filip Kostic’s golden opportunity beforehand. We need to try and defend with greater conviction. We now have an opportunity to give our all in two more games and try to get one or two wins. We’ll rise to the challenge.”

There’s no shame in losing in Wolfsburg, but it hurts at the moment. We need to keep going now.

Erik Durm: “We’re very disappointed as we wanted to finally get another win. We applied pressure in the first 20 minutes after half-time and deserved to lead, but then we conceded a penalty. I don’t blame Stefan [Ilsanker] at all. We now need to keep our chins up, give everything out on the pitch on Tuesday and show a reaction. We’ve gone toe-to-toe with some top teams of late. We remain a difficult side to beat.”

Bas Dost: “We did very well after the break. Filip had a huge opportunity to make it 1-0 and we deserved to take the lead from the penalty. After that we lost the ball too easily. We should have won the game 1-0. There’s no shame in losing in Wolfsburg, but it hurts at the moment. We need to keep going now. Not everything we’re doing is bad.”
