“We can achieve something extraordinary”

Adi Hütter discusses Eintracht’s upcoming “finals”, their objectives and latest team news ahead of Saturday’s meeting with 1. FC Union Berlin.

Adi Hütter on...

...the game against Union: “Every remaining game now is pretty much a cup final. That obviously begins on Saturday against Union. If we can finish the season in the top four it would be fantastic. If we qualify for the Europa League it’s also really good. A lot of people are expecting us to slip out of the top four, but we can achieve something extraordinary. That’s what we’re focusing on. Our dream scenario is qualifying for Europe.”

…Union Berlin: “We’re expecting very awkward opponents. They’re very disciplined tactically, cover a lot of ground and play physical and good football. They’re having a good season but of course we want to win at home.”

Head coach Adi Hütter

…personnel: “Martin Hinteregger completed parts of training today. It’s going to be a race against time for Saturday. If he can’t play, then we’ll have to change things around.  But I’ve still got options. Daichi Kamada has had back trouble recently but trained with the group today. I expect him to be fit for Saturday. Apart from that, Tuta and Amin Younes are unavailable due to suspension.”

…Eintracht’s tactics against Union: “We’re playing against a team who’ve conceded the fewest goals up to now and who are unbeaten in five games. That shows us that they defend incredibly well. We need to keep the ball on the ground and get in behind their defence with low passes.”
