“We’re difficult to beat”

Adi Hütter gives his thoughts on Arminia Bielefeld, personnel and potentially qualifying for Europe next season.

Adi Hütter on...

... Arminia Bielefeld: “Bielefeld are doing really well. They don’t score many goals but rarely end up on the losing side because they work very hard and concede few goals. We’re set for an intensive game. Ritsu Doan is very much their key player in terms of being creative, and in Fabian Klos they’ve got a goalscorer. Stefan Ortega is almost kind of a sweeper in goal, and he plays as many passes as anyone in their team.”

...personnel: “Sebastian Rode took part in training and will travel with us. It takes a lot to keep Martin Hinteregger down. He played with a dead leg against Freiburg. It has to be something serious for him to miss out.”

The boys don't need any extra motivation, they’re on a good run. We’re in good form, as are Arminia. We know what to expect there.

Head coach Adi Hütter

...objectives for the second half of the season: “Ideally we’d have enough points to qualify for Europe at the end of the season. Obviously we don’t yet know how many points we’ll need for that though. The boys don't need any extra motivation, they’re on a good run. We’re in good form, as are Arminia. We know what to expect there.”

..comparing this season to previous ones: “We’ve earned 27 points in four of the five season halves since I’ve been here. The only exception was the first half of the last campaign, when we had an unbelievable amount of games. It’s good. We're difficult to beat and need the same number of points again in the second half of the season if we want to finish in the European spots.”
