“We can be proud of that”

It may have been another draw for Eintracht but it was different from the previous ones. The coach and players spoke about the result, the performance, chances and changes.

Head coach Adi Hütter: “I was very pleased with the tactical side of things, and the team deserve credit for their effort and their fight. Slightly less so in terms of our football. I’m satisfied with the point because Leipzig are a strong side. I think I went with the right formation for this game because Leipzig play aggressively and quickly, and we wanted to do that as well. It was a very hard-fought game overall. We’ll gladly take the point, we remain unbeaten in Frankfurt and we can be proud of that.”

Erik Durm: “I’m very happy to have got a run-out and I was pleased when I learned about it this morning. Being on the pitch is the nicest thing for any footballer. I was given the chance today and it was a really nice feeling to be on the pitch with the boys. We were united as a team, very aggressive and executed exactly what we planned to do. We can be pleased with the point against a Champions League team.”

Aymen Barkok: “It was a tough game. We knew we’d have to do a lot of running, we worked very well and were tight at the back. I thought we were great at immediately switching to attack when we won the ball. We knew we’d get our chances, and the 1-1 draw is fair.”
