Jonathan, your first two league games have come and gone. What do you make of Eintracht’s start to the season?
“It was obviously great to win in Freiburg - not many teams will do that this season. Unfortunately we weren’t able to build on that victory at home to Werder Bremen, despite a good performance. Conceding just before full-time hurt us, but we won’t let it knock us off our stride. We’re continuing to grow as a team.”
You’re taking on Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening. How do you assess your chances in that match?
“It’ll definitely be a tough test, but last season we were very close to getting something from the game. That’s why I’m looking forward to an away match in a fantastic stadium, and I hope we can get a good result.”
You’re one of the players in the Eagles side who has appeared in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. What are your thoughts on Eintracht’s opponents in the group stage?
“We’re up against experienced teams in Lazio and Olympique Marseille. It’s going to be difficult for us. I still think we can surprise a few people. Last season, nobody expected us to win at Schalke [in the DFB Cup semi-finals] or beat Bayern Munich in the cup final. That’s why we need to believe in ourselves. Everything’s possible in this group.”
