Head coach Niko Kovac on…
…the current mood in the Eintracht camp: “We’re at home and we’re looking forward to it. We go into the game full of confidence after our performance in Hamburg, where we showed once again that we’re a match for any opponent. Schalke are an absolutely fantastic team, so it certainly won’t be easy. The mood in and around the camp is superb, though, and we’re confident we can get the win.”
…personnel: “We’ll have to wait and see if David Abraham is able to play. It’s touch and go. He’s been training by himself and feels all right, although he’s still in a bit of pain. Mijat Gacinovic took full part in training but Makoto Hasebe is still some way off match fitness following his illness. He probably won’t be available yet tomorrow.”
…the disparity between the Eagles’ home and away form: “It’s not something we’ve been particularly talking about ahead of this game. We know we haven’t collected as many points at home as we would’ve liked, but we have to look at the bigger picture. We’re in a good position with 25 points. It obviously would’ve been nice to pick up more of those at home - we want to spoil our fans with exciting games and good results. Despite our recent results we’ve actually put in some good performances at the Commerzbank Arena, such as last weekend against Bayern Munich. We want to build on that display against Schalke, preferably with a positive result.”
