Prince Boateng on…
…dealing with pre-match nerves: “We’re trying to mask the fact that we’re nervous. We are nervous, but that’s a good sign. We’re looking forward to it, that’s the most important thing. It feels a little bit like the school trips you used to go on as kids. My role is to try to help the boys relax.”
…the atmosphere in the Eintracht camp: “We were obviously a little disappointed to slip to eighth in the table, but we have an opportunity to put that behind us and have a big celebration. It’s in our own hands. The coach desperately wants to get his hands on the trophy. He’s made that very clear to us.”
…the Eintracht fans: “Particularly when you’re the underdog, it’s important to feel that the supporters are behind you. We need the fans, they give us extra motivation. The support in the city has been phenomenal this week. Frankfurt is a football city - everyone’s crazy about Eintracht. Some people are even riding their bikes to Berlin, which is really cool. I hope we can show our appreciation on Saturday. The atmosphere inside the stadium will be mind-blowing.”
…the Eagles’ chances: “There are always surprises in football. Who would have thought Leicester City would win the league in England a couple of years ago? Or that VfB Stuttgart would win in Munich? Every now and then a smaller team goes on to win the cup. That can happen on Saturday.”
…Bayern Munich: “Bayern are desperate to win the double. We can’t let that affect us, though. We mustn’t be scared. Last weekend Stuttgart showed us what we need to do. We’ll get our chances and we have to make the most of them. We’re going to Berlin full of confidence and we’ll try to impose our game on them.”
