"We'll have to go to our limit" – the key quotes ahead of the DFB Cup final

Eintracht head coach Niko Kovac and team captain David Abraham were in confident mood at the pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's DFB Cup final, with both insisting the Eagles can pull off an upset against Bayern Munich.

Niko Kovac on...

... returning to Berlin:
"It might sound funny but at the start of the season we really did make it one of our objectives to come back here. You just have to believe that you can do so, and the players have done that throughout the campaign. That's how we'll approach the final as well. Everything starts with the right attitude."

... the atmosphere in the team:
"The atmosphere was great when we went out for a walk earlier. The boys are laughing a lot right now and they're relaxed, which is a good thing. There will be enough tension tomorrow, especially at kick-off."

…how to beat Bayern:
"We'll have to go very close to our absolute limit tomorrow. If we can do the things that have made us so strong throughout the entire season then we've got a chance, and we'll have to hope that Bayern aren't at their best. Then we can win."

David Abraham on...

... the road to the final:
"We've worked together as a unit all season. Our strength has always been that we're very compact and that we play as a team, in spite of - or maybe because of - all the different nationalities in the squad. We've always been there for each other and we want to demonstrate that again tomorrow. We're all pulling together towards our shared objective."

… Bayern's attack:
"Obviously we'll have our work cut out for us tomorrow but we're well prepared. Now it's up to us, but it's the responsibility of the whole team, not just the defence. If we're well organised then we've got a chance against Bayern. We'll get our opportunities up front and we'll need to be clinical with them."

Jupp Heynckes on...

... Eintracht Frankfurt:
"I don't think we're as heavy favourites as the rest of the public. Anything can happen in football, especially in a final. We're wary of Eintracht because they're not just a very committed side, they've also improved a great deal in terms of the quality of their play. Their slip-up [Eintracht's league defeat in Munich] three weeks ago will have no bearing on this game. Tomorrow will be a very different match and they've had a very good season."
