SELECAO TALENT
Eintracht Frankfurt are happy to announce the signing of a promising young talent from Chelsea FC: Lucas Piazon. The 20-year-old midfielder joined the Eagles on a one-year loan deal. Piazon, born in São Paulo, started his career with FC Coritiba’s youth squad. In 2007, he played one year for Atlético Paranaense before joining FC São Paulo. In 2011, the then 17-year-old left South America and made the move to Europe. Several of Europe’s leading clubs wanted to sign the top talent – finally Chelsea secured the services of Piazon.

During his first year in England he competed for Chelsea’s reserve team. In the 2012/2013 season, Piazon was nominated for Chelsea’s first team several times and gained some on-pitch time. In January 2013, he joined FC Málaga on loan for the second half of the season. For the 2013/2014 season, he joined the Dutch Eredevise club Vitesse Arnhem - again on loan - where he made his breakthrough with eleven goals and eight assists in 29 league games.
Frankfurt’s Sporting Director, Bruno Hübner, said about the deal: “We are very happy that we could finally reach an agreement with Chelsea FC after long and fair negotiations.”
