Ronald Brunmayr joins coaching staff

New assistant coached Blau-Weiß Linz to Austrian second division title.

Ronald Brunmayr has been named as assistant coach to Oliver Glasner.

Eintracht Frankfurt have completed their coaching recruitment, with head coach Oliver Glasner heading into the 2021/22 season with Michael Angerschmid and now Ronald Brunmayr as his assistant coaches. The former, who had worked under Glasner for number of years, was announced at the end of May, with Eintracht now adding 46-year-old Brunmayr – previously at FC Blau-Weiß Linz – and giving him a contract that also runs until 30 June 2024.

Second division title in Austria

Styrian-born Brunmayr had been coaching at different levels at LASK since 2012, including the reserves and some of the youth teams. He then went on to be an assistant coach for FC Juniors Oberösterreich in Pasching, who are a feeder club for LASK. In January 2020, he was appointed head coach of Blau-Weiß Linz in Austria’s second tier, and steered the club to its greatest ever achievement last season, managing a draw in the final match away to their nearest challengers FC Liefering which secured them the title on goal difference.

As a player, Brunmayr made over 300 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga for clubs such as Austria Wien and also SV Ried, where he played alongside Glasner and Angerschmid. He also won eight caps for his country.
