Bruno, pre-season hasn’t been under way for long and the first competitive match is already just around the corner. As sporting director, how do you assess the situation?
“It’s all quite normal actually. We’re looking forward to the first competitive match and we have decent opponents in Flora Tallinn, who are already quite far into their league campaign and have 20 games in the tank. It was no accident that they got past Nis, so we’re looking forward to the task.”
What can you expect in Estonia, and what kind of opposition are you preparing for?
“Certainly a very motivated team, who performed very well in both matches against Nis. Our video analysis shows that their players have quality, so we need to be on our guard if we want to progress and reach the group stage, which goes without saying. We’re fired up and excited for the first competitive game.”
How far along do you see the team’s preparations?
“Generally, it’s always the case in our squad that new players integrate pretty quickly. The players who were already here have worked very well. Indeed, the coach has said that they arrived in very good condition so we’re already well-prepared, but obviously we can’t be at our maximum yet after three weeks. It will certainly be interesting to see how our new-look side fares for the first time.”
