“Be wide awake from the off”

With the match against Union behind them and the focus now on Dortmund, Eintracht are preparing for the clash with the Black and Yellows.

Under the watchful eye of birthday boy and Frankfurt legend Karl-Heinz Körbel, on Tuesday the Eintracht squad began gearing up for this Saturday’s match against Borussia Dortmund.

Alongside long-term casualty Ragnar Ache, only Aymen Barkok, who’s still in quarantine, and Marijan Cavar, who’s nursing a knock, were missing from the enthusiastic group of outfield players, which again included Amin Younes.

We have to be wide awake from the off against Dortmund. That’s a point that the coach is focusing on this week.

Sporting director Bruno Hübner

“We’re pleased that Amin is training well and is an option for Saturday,” said sporting director Bruno Hübner. The session featured several passing drills as well as an intense training game. “We have to be wide awake from the off against Dortmund. That’s a point that the coach is focusing on this week,” added Hübner.

Asked about the showdown with Dortmund, goalkeeping coach Jan Zimmermann told the players to “enjoy” it, first and foremost. “We’re looking forward to the challenge. We’ve drawn a line under the first six minutes against Berlin. Kevin Trapp should and will get his self-assurance and hunger back.” There’s little doubt of that after the Eagles custodian kept his cool in the capital to help his side get back in the game.
