“We’re ready”

Dino Toppmöller on the confidence among his players, a tough Borussia Mönchengladbach side, squad news, the Eagles’ approach, and his goalkeepers and strikers.

Dino Toppmöller on ...

...the Matchday 4 clash: “We're confident and see ourselves as favourites but we're aware of the difficulty of the task. Mönchengladbach have strengthened well with Stöger and Kleindienst. It won't be easy but we feel ready. We’ll need to defend our box well but also be wary of players with good shooting ability from range. We should therefore try to keep our opponents a little further away from our goal compared to last time out. They’ll be a tough nut to crack, but we’re ready and looking forward to the game.”

...playing on a Saturday evening: “Regular Saturday evening matches show the status that Eintracht Frankfurt have earned. Floodlights, home match - it's all set. We want to get into the flow. That requires a lot of effort, right from the first second.”

Head coach Dino Toppmöller

...squad news: “Oscar Højlund is going to be out for a bit longer, Kevin Trapp is not available on Saturday. Mario Götze had an issue with his adductor at the start of the week and now has a mild infection. He's touch and go. Junior Dina Ebimbe has made a decent impression this week and will be given time on the pitch in our upcoming games. The same goes for Mo Dahoud, but I can’t promise it’ll happen on Saturday. We’re confident that Tuta [who is about to become a father] can play on Saturday, but if that’s not the case, we’re prepared.”

...Kaua Santos: “He’s trained normally this week. We have full confidence in him. He’s taken his first steps but the real tests still lie ahead.”

...Hugo Ekitiké and Omar Marmoush: “The good thing is that both players are capable of playing in several different roles. We’ve worked well as a team so far, which is the main thing at the end of the day.”
