Amin Younes’ contract terminated

The player’s loan deal from SSC Napoli, which was due to expire at the end of this season, has come to an end ahead of schedule.

Eintracht Frankfurt, SSC Napoli and Amin Younes have mutually agreed to terminate the loan contract that was due to run until 30 June 2022. The player had been given permission to be excused from training and matches since September last year.

The 28-year-old joined the Eagles on a two-season loan from the Italian top-flight outfit in October 2020. Last term the attacking midfielder made 26 Bundesliga appearances and one in the DFB Cup. Following the summer break, Younes featured in the DFB Cup first-round tie away to SV Waldhof Mannheim in what was his last outing for the club.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche said: “All parties involved had worked on a joint solution to the situation since last autumn, and we have now reached an agreement that is satisfactory for all sides: for the player, for Napoli, and not least for Eintracht Frankfurt. We wish Amin all the best for the future.”
