Veh: A Win Would Boost The Confidence

The first pre match press conference of the season ahead of the match away to SpVgg Greuther Fürth tomorrow evening (20.30h CET) gave the media the option to find out the latest from Eintracht manager Armin Veh.

Mr Veh, how do you feel ahead of the first match of the season?
The feeling is the same before any first match of any given season. No matter which division you are in, at the start of a campaign you are never quite sure at what level the team is. It is a strange feeling.

How was the preparation, are you satisfied?
I think we had a good preparation, the team is fully fit. The defence is a big question mark as it has been pretty much reassembled. But we have belief and hope in competing with a strong squad. And I am very surprised that the team turned around our training targets much faster and better than expected.

What about the opponent, SpVgg Greuther Fürth?
Fürth will attack early, they have the same ambitions as we have - promotion. They will try and press early on and they will be looking at controlling their home match.

How important is a win against Fürth?
Of course a win would boost our self-confidence. It is always important what you have gained at the end though. Look at Borussia Dortmund last season, after having a bad start they turned out winning the title in the end. But picking up all three points would be good indeed.

How many players will you take to the away match?
We will travel down there with 18 players including two goalkeepers.

Who are the biggest competitors of Eintracht this season?
Next to Bochum and Fürth I also count in Düsseldorf and Duisburg. But one or the other team will join that group, it will be spread out between various teams.
