“Things have always moved on”

Board spokesman Axel Hellmann discusses the current situation at Eintracht and the club’s plans for the future.

Axel Hellmann on…

…the current situation: “First and foremost, we have clarity regarding the departures in certain managerial positions, namely Fredi Bobic, Adi Hütter and Bruno Hübner. The latter, as we know, was planned for some time. The advantage overall is that we can now start to implement our subsequent recruitment plans with great clarity. Firstly, it’s up to the supervisory board and its chairman [Philip Holzer] to appoint a new board member for sport.”

Things have always moved on and we have always taken a step forward. That’s why there’s no reason at all to be pessimistic about the future.

Board spokesman Axel Hellmann

…stability: “We’ve obviously had an eventful few days and I can understand that the fans and the people are disappointed about one decision or another, but I’d also like to say that Eintracht Frankfurt are used to making changes – there have always been changes in the past. Things have always moved on and we have always taken a step forward. That’s why there’s no reason at all to be pessimistic about the future.”

…filling the vacant positions: “The new board member for sport will decide on the coach and technical director, as well as taking over all operations. He’ll take care of squad planning and ideally already knows where we’re heading in sporting terms. Before that, we’ll not be making any decisions other than the board member for sport.”
