Eintracht

Over three million followers worldwide

Eintracht’s social media channels have combined to break through yet another incredible barrier, confirming the global reach of this traditional German club.

While Eintracht Frankfurt played against one of the most storied opponents in their history in the shape of Barcelona, in the quarter-final of this season’s Europa League, the Eagles are also making people sit up and take notice off the pitch. The various social media channels of the club now have over 3,000,000 followers combined, with that figure rising by the second.

The platform with the greatest reach is Facebook, with a total of over 957,000 fans. While the German account leads the way with 432,000 followers, the international versions launched in 2016 are growing all the time. Global communication measures are expanding every year, with SGE now having five country-specific Facebook channels, the Spanish version alone having over 210,000 followers. The English channel is close behind on 180,000, followed by Portuguese with 79,000 followers, the Indian channel with 30,000 and the US channel with 21,000.

Twitter in six languages

The Twitter accounts now have around 710,000 followers in total who keep an eye on Eintracht’s tweets on a daily basis. And again, while the German account is at the forefront with 522,000 fans, the international channels are also constantly growing in popularity. The English version has over 60,000 followers, the Spanish over 55,000 and the Japanese version over 18,000. There is also a US account with around 21,000 followers, as well as a Portuguese version with over 28,000 people following it. The Instagram account meanwhile has 622,000 followers.

The leader in terms of international media is Sina Weibo, the biggest Chinese micro-blogging platform which now has some 407,000 users following it for their Eintracht news.

Eintracht Frankfurt has also made recent forays into digital media such as Spotify and TikTok, and again enjoyed amazing growth.

Overall, it is clear to see that the multicultural qualities of Eintracht as a club are reflected way beyond the city itself and have a real presence across the spectrum of social media.
