The sports tribunal of the German Football Association (DFB) has given Tuta a two-match suspension for serious foul play.
The Eintracht Frankfurt defender was initially shown a second yellow card for a challenge on Bremen’s Felix Agu during the Matchday 28 encounter, but after a VAR review, referee Robert Hartmann amended his decision and showed the Brazilian a straight red in the 89th minute. It came just 12 minutes after the 24-year-old had headed in the equaliser in the 1-1 draw.
The player and the club have accepted the verdict. Tuta will miss the Eagles’ trip to VfB Stuttgart on Matchday 29 and the home game against FC Augsburg on Matchday 30.
