The draw has been made! In their debut season in the UEFA Champions League, Eintracht Frankfurt will meet Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting CP and Olympique de Marseille. The names were drawn by Yaya Touré and Hamit Altintop at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium on Thursday evening.
Board member for sport Markus Krösche said: “We’ve been drawn in a very appealing and attractive group. We’re very much looking forward to this challenge. Tottenham Hotspur, as a top club from the Premier League, possess extraordinary individual quality – if you think about Harry Kane and Heung-min Son in particular, among others. Sporting Lisbon impressed last season as a great unit, similar to Olympique Marseille, who did brilliantly to finish second in Ligue 1 last year. Our target, despite the strength of the opposition, is qualifying for the round of 16.”
