"The point could prove very important"

Following Matchday 29's 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim, the Eintracht Frankfurt players and staff were pleased to have kept a direct rival for the European spots at arm's length.

Niko Kovac: "I don't think anybody regretted coming to the stadium today. It was a great game of Bundesliga football. It wasn't easy for either side because of the heat, and we certainly went right to the limit. Hoffenheim were waiting for us to make a mistake in the first half; we did that a couple of times and it suddenly got a bit hairy. In the second half we had things under control a little bit better, and all in all it was a fair result after a good game. Both teams probably deserved three points. Luka Jovic's injury isn't too serious, he just took a knock to his knee."

Fredi Bobic: "It was an intense game and we'll take the point. Hoffenheim are still behind us, which is a bit of a statement. The next few weeks will be tough, and so for that reason we'll also take the point. It could probably have been three points, but I suspect Hoffenheim would say the same. Getting some minutes under his belt has done Sebastien Haller the world of good. His header hit the bar, but next week he'll gobble up that chance. We now need to pick up points in Leverkusen. As for Marco Fabian, his first start since the DFB Cup final went well. He was as skilful as ever."

Danny da Costa: "Our aim was to keep a clean sheet, but unfortunately we didn't manage that. It's a fair result after an end-to-end game. Hoffenheim have players who can be a real threat on the break. It's a positive that they're still behind us in the standings. The point could prove very, very important."

Marco Fabián: "I'm happy. I've been working towards being back in the starting line-up. I felt good, particularly physically. That's important ahead of the coming games, because I want to be available again. It was an intense game, and important not to lose."
