The Match Preview

Another meeting against a team from the river Rhein is coming up for the Eagles: After the 'Rhein-Main derby' against FSV Mainz 05 last Saturday the destination now is Cologne. Kick off for the game away to 1. FC Köln is on Saturday at 15.30h CET.

Possible Line Ups

EINTRACHT: Fährmann – Jung, Russ, Vasoski, Tzavellas – Schwegler, Köhler – Ochs, Meier, Altintop – Gekas.

KÖLN: Mondragon – Brecko, Geromel, Mohamad, Ehret – Petit, Pezzoni – Jajalo, Matuschyk, Podolski – Freis.

Attendance

49,000 are expected to visit the Rhein-Energie stadium in Cologne, approx. 3,500 Eintracht supporters will travel to the game.

Colours

1. FC Köln will play in red, Eintracht in white.

It is the 77th Bundesliga meeting between the two teams. Away to Cologne the Eagles managed to win 8 of 38 games, with 15 draws and defeats each. The last time they won this away fixture was 16 years ago when Eintracht managed a 3-2 on the last matchday of the 1993/94 season. Eintracht just reached the UEFA Cup – the winning goal was scored by Anthony Yeboah.

Last Season

In 2009/10 the game away to Cologne ended in a goalless draw, at home Eintracht lost 2-1.

Winter Break

After the German DFB Cup game away to Alemannia Aachen on December the 22nd (kick off 20.30h CET) there will be a Christmas holiday until January the 2nd when the Eagles will join the indoor tournament ‘Licher Hessen Cup 2010’ in Frankfurt. Bundesliga will restart in mid January.
