Six Eintracht players had rather different experiences during the international break.

EURO 2012 Qualifiers

Halil Altintop was subbed on in the 82nd during the surprising defeat of Turkey against Azerbaijan (0-1). Being in the same group the German national team has to be grateful to their former manager Berti Vogts, now in charge of Azerbaijan.

After having played the full 90 minutes against Latvia on Friday (1-0 win), Eintracht’s Greek left defender Georgios Tzavellas watched last night’s 2-1 win against Israel from the bench this time.

It was a successful Tuesday for Pirmin Schwegler, who had a good game for Switzerland against Wales. After the 4-1 win was safe, Schwegler was taken off the field just a minute before the final whistle. His performance in defensive midfield was praised by manager Ottmar Hitzfeld.

Successful Showings of Young Eagles

Eintracht youngster Cenc Tosun came on for another Eagle - Marcos Alvarez – in Sunday’s Germany Under-20 game away to Poland. Tosun played the full second half and scored the winning goal from the penalty spot (65’).

Sebastian Jung came on as a sub in minute 73 during Germany’s Under-21 friendly against Ukraine (2-1) on Monday.
