The Flachau Training Camp

The Eagles travelled to Flachau in Austria for their first summer training camp 2016.

Manager Niko Kovac and his coaching team and squad departed last Monday and trained hard within great premises for six days. Usually two sessions a day - some of them lasting 2.5 hours - were conducted by the Kovac brothers and their assistant and fitness coaches to start laying the foundation for a successful season 2016/17.

Despite unsettled weather conditions - come rain, come shine - the team enjoyed excellent pitch conditions, cycling units and plenty of fitness training. The three goalkeepers Hradecky, Lindner and Bätge had a session on the beach voelleyball pitch with goalkeeper coach Moppes Petz training parries and jumps in deep sand (GALLERY).

During the training camp Jeus Vallejo's contract was finalised, Alex Meier extended his contract until 2018 and many new players sparked the competition for starting 11 spots in the season to come. At the end of the training camp the Eagles travelled to Duisburg for a mini tournament with MSV Duisburg, Hertha BSC Berlin and FC Nantes participating (read HERE how went).

Eintracht head coach Niko Kovac: "We had perfect conditions during our time in Flachau, also from a sports science point of view. With the new signings our team is unpredictable to some extend, and there is plenty of competition going on which is good. It is important to train high volumes as this will determine our fitness and ability in competitive matches. Of course we allow for plenty of breaks for the lads to recover."
