Partial ligament tear

Eintracht’s Filip Kostic will be sidelined for several weeks with a ligament injury to his right knee.

Eintracht Frankfurt will be without Filip Kostic for several weeks after the Serbia international suffered a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee in the game against Hertha Berlin. The 27-year-old had to be taken off after 15 minutes of Friday’s 3-1 victory following a collision with Hertha’s Jordan Torunarigha. Kostic will miss the Eagles’ game against TSG Hoffenheim at the Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday (15:30 CEST) as well as his country’s upcoming international fixtures.

“First of all, we wish Filip a speedy recovery and hope he comes back soon,” said Eintracht sporting director Bruno Hübner. “He’s in the best hands with our doctors.”
