DFB Cup winners in 2018 and Europa League winners in 2022 – both monumental successes in the club’s recent history that are firmly connected to airline partner SunExpress, who safely flew the Eagles home from Berlin and Seville with the trophy in their luggage. The various special Eintracht designs, which the airline dedicated to the club and all its supporters, remain a distinctive memory. Using the slogan “The Return of the Eagles”, the first SGE Express has carried around a quarter of a million passengers in approximately 1,500 flights since 2018.
However, the success story meant the follow-up model was not long in coming. In 2020, the partners jointly conceived a one-off campaign in which Eintracht fans could vote on the new paintwork of a Boeing 737. The choice went to the well-known design with the concise "Eintracht" lettering, which is still a real eye-catcher at airports today.
