Eintracht Frankfurt agreed to Inui's wish to dissolve the player's contract with SGE. Inui had joined the Eagles from second division club VfL Bochum in the summer of 2012. In total, the Japanese international made 75 Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht and scored 7 goals.
SGE's Sporting Director Bruno Hübner said on occasion of the transfer, "We thank Takashi for his dedication and commitment to Eintracht Frankfurt and wish him every success for the new challenge."
Takashi Inui acknowledged the fans in his last words as an Eintracht player. He said, "I had three great years in Frankfurt. I would like to express my thanks to everyone, especially the fans. Players come and go, but the Eintracht supporters always push the team, that is not going to change. Thanks for a great time!"
