Striker Sébastien Haller leaves Eintracht for West Ham United

Sébastien Haller has joined English side West Ham United with immediate effect.

The 25-year-old Frenchman, who joined Eintracht from FC Utrecht two seasons ago, has left the Eagles for a new challenge in the Premier League. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.

“The departure of a player of his calibre is obviously a loss for us in a sporting sense, but Sébastien was always open and honest about his ambitions,” said Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic. “We wish him all the best and thank Sébastien for his passionate performances for Eintracht in the last two years.”

Goalscorer and cup winner

The 1.90-metre-tall striker made 77 competitive appearances for Eintracht, registering 33 goals and 19 assists. His greatest achievement at the club was lifting the DFB Cup in 2018.

“I’m very thankful to Eintracht Frankfurt for the last two seasons,” said Haller. “I was very happy in the city and particularly enjoyed the home games in front of the wonderful fans. I now want to start a new chapter and continue my development in the Premier League. I will of course continue to follow Eintracht and keep my fingers crossed for them as a fan.”
