Stefan Ilsanker joins Eintracht

Ilsanker initially started out as a defensive midfielder, but has also operated in central defence and at right-back in the past.The 30-year-old will meet up with familiar faces at Eintracht in head coach Adi Hütter and defender Martin Hinteregger, with whom he won the Austrian league and cup double in 2015. The 42-time Austria international made 131 competitive appearances for Leipzig, helping the side climb all the way from Bundesliga 2 into the UEFA Champions League.“In Stefan Ilsanker we’ve signed an experienced and tried-and-tested Bundesliga player,” said board member Fredi Bobic. “Above all, he’s someone who can help the team right away and will give us more flexibility.”
