Stefan Buck has been working in the German champions’ academy since 2015, including as assistant coach of the U16 and U19 teams. Since 2021 the former Bundesliga player was assistant of the Bayern reserves, where he worked alongside Martín Demichelis, Danny Schwarz and Holger Seitz.
During his playing career as a defender, Buck made 19 Bundesliga appearances for Karlsruher SC. He also played a total of 132 games in the second tier between 2005 and 2012 for SpVgg Unterhaching, Karlsruher, FC Augsburg and TSV 1860 Munich.
Buck will already be on the pitch with his new coaching colleagues for the first pre-season training session today (Wednesday).
Sporting director Timmo Hardung said: “We’re very glad to have completed our coaching team for the start of the season with Stefan Buck. He’ll provide vital support to Dino Toppmöller as assistant coach and in particular promote the individual development of our players in their daily work.”
