New signing Enrique Herrero Garciá in profile

Enrique Herrero García is another burgeoning young talent who has decided to take the next step in his career in the heart of Europe.

After 16-year-old Ignacio Ferri Julià and 17-year-old Fabio Blanco Gómez, Enrique Herrero García is the third Spanish teen prodigy to join Eintracht ahead of the new season. The 16-year-old, who was part of the Villarreal youth system, has signed a contract with Frankfurt through to 2025. Prior to joining the reigning Europa League champions, Herrero García played for CD Roda until summer 2020.

After just a year at Villarreal, the youngster has moved to Germany to take his career to the next level with SGE, where he will be able to focus on his development away from the spotlight in Spain.

Ben Manga, Director of Professional Football Eintracht Frankfurt: "We’ve brought in a very good young striker, who is among the outstanding players in his age group in Europe. Our scouting department have done a brilliant job there. The plan for him is that we want to gradually build him up. So that he gets used to everything here first of al land we gradually introduce him into the first team, with individual training and light team training. He is still very young, obviously. That means we won’t run him into the ground and we’ll clearly take it step by step."

Herrero García was born on 28 January 2005, making him the youngest Eagle on the books with a pro contract. He is also eligible to play for Eintracht’s U17s and U19s.

Straight after signing his contract in early July, Herrero García was down to business and training with the squad. “I feel great since coming here – it’s a wonderful experience for me and I hope to be able to improve as a player here in Frankfurt,” the striker said in an interview.
