“So may it continue”

Kevin Trapp, Ansgar Knauff and Oliver Glasner hail the “great performance” against Union and explain the key to the successful start of a busy period.

Head coach Oliver Glasner: “Over the 90 minutes it was a very deserved win for us and a very good performance by my team. Every win helps and gives us confidence. That’s the most important thing during this period. We were always alert and controlled the tempo well. We’ve now won four of our last five Bundesliga games, as well as winning a tricky away match in Marseille. However, we can’t now pat ourselves on the back all day. We need to keep going and not ease off. We face very strong opponents again on Tuesday.”

We have a great team mentality and fight for each other.

Ansgar Knauff: “We’ve found our game, we know what we have to do and we gave everything from start to finish. With this high intensity I think we can beat any team. I’m becoming more and more assured in my positional play and am also winning the ball more as a result. Now it’s about keeping it up because we’re on a very good path as a team.”

Kevin Trapp: “It was an extremely nice win – particularly with the manner of it. We were very good at stopping the things that make Union so strong. We have a great team mentality and fight for each other. We have great quality and it’s a lot of fun to see how we play football and how we made the goals. So may it continue, and we also know what we have to do so that it does continue.”
