While their NBA team - the Sonics - were moved to Oklahoma City in 2008, some big teams keep the passion of their loyal supporters alive and kicking; the Mariners in baseball, the Seahawks in the NFL and of course the Sounders as the local football team and Eintracht’s upcoming opponent. Key players: Clint Dempsey (34) is of course an American household name in soccer a.k.a. football, he recorded 133 caps (56 goals) for the U.S. Men's National Team so far and has a big following at Fulham in England. Seattle born Jordan Morris scored 14 goals last season, his first as a pro, and contributed plenty to the title win. Right defender Brad Evans regularly competes with Eintracht’s Timmy Chandler position wise in the U.S.M.N.T., he also has plenty of experience. And while Swiss born goalkeeper Stefan Frei is a well-known name in Germany a former SGE striker left the Sounders at the start of the year: Nelson Valdez.

Home to the Seattle Seahawks for NFL matches the beautiful CenturyLink Field (72,000 capacity) is also home to the Sounders. They averaged a 43,000 attendance last season which is top in MLS.
