Skibbe: Make Amends

Ahead of tomorrow's game away to 1. FC Nürnberg Eintracht manager Michael Skibbe offered his views.

Mr Skibbe, how will the team go into the game away to Nürnberg after the bad run in the recent weeks?
The team is keen, and they want to turn this around. We want to make amends after the defeat in the last match, and I expect a response of the team and a good away game in Nürnberg. The aim is to follow up on the convincing performance of the Freiburg match where we created various good scoring opportunities.

Will Amanatidis travel to Nürnberg?
No.

Who will replace Sebastian Jung and Caio?
I do not know yet. I will wait until after the final two training sessions ahead of the match.

Do you have relegation worries? Are you and the team under considerable strain?
We are under pressure in every single Bundesliga match. I am totally convinced that we will manage to gain points in the upcoming games and to increase the gap towards the relegation zone.

What are the reasons for being optimistic?
I am convinced of the quality of my team and I am certain that we will calm things down in the weeks to come.

In the second half of the Leverkusen game Eintracht played with two strikers instead of one. Is that an option for the match tomorrow night?
Many European top teams play with an expanded midfield and one forward. It is important to control the ball, to be organized in defense and to have many ball recoveries with a good attacking play.

What do you think about 1. FC Nürnberg?
They have played a good season so far with a very physical approach. They do not allow many shots and especially Ekici and Schieber are a threat in their attacking play. And they are also good in dead ball situations.
