Jean-Mattéo Bahoya completed his transfer to Eintracht from French second-tier side Angers SCO on 25 January, signing a contract until 2029. At his official unveiling at a press conference, Bahoya spoke about…
... his first few days in Frankfurt: “Gude! My first days here have been really good. I’m happy to be here. I’ve been very warmly welcomed by the team, the staff and the whole club.”
... his transfer to Eintracht: “The way the club management presented themselves to me was good. I’m a very young player with big ambitions. I want to show everyone what I can do and I hope to have a long and beautiful time at the club.”
... his first visit to Deutsche Bank Park for the game against Mainz 05: “It was unbelievable, the atmosphere and the way the fans kept pushing the team. I want to play for the fans and produce good performances. The visit was a lot of fun and motivated me even more to want to play here.”
I want to keep improving. Eintracht Frankfurt is the right place for me to do that

... the differences in football between Germany and France: “One difference I noticed after just a couple of training sessions was the intensity. The rhythm is fast, the players run a lot and move the ball around quicker. The Bundesliga suits me, and that tempo is one of the reasons. I want to keep improving. Eintracht Frankfurt is the right place for me to do that.”
... role models and objectives: “Kingsley Coman and Franck Ribéry are good examples of French players who have had a successful career in Germany. They forged their own path. I’m also here to write my own history. I want to prove myself, support the team and establish myself as quickly as possible. I’ve got a winning mentality.”
... his position: “I feel most comfortable on the left wing. I engage defenders, use my pace in one-on-ones and then cross into the box or cut inside and get a shot off on my right foot. But I’ve been trained to play in a variety of position: as a number 10, on the right wing or as a striker. I’m willing to play wherever the coach needs me.”
