Wins for Marmoush, Larsson and Collins

The end of the second FIFA international window of the season saw 10 Eagles in action and one or two thrilling matches. A round-up of the results.

Six goals, five of them in the first half, were scored in Warsaw, where Croatia with Eintracht forward Igor Matanovic met Poland in the UEFA Nations League. It finished 3-3, with Matanovic on the field for 72 minutes. The Blazers remain second in Group A1.

Meanwhile, the net was pierced four times in St. Gallen between Switzerland and Denmark, who also shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Rasmus Kristensen played the full game for the Danes, who are second behind leaders Spain in Group A4 with seven points after four Nations League matchdays.

At the top of Group 1 in League C, Sweden finished the international break with a 3-0 victory away to Estonia. Hugo Larsson came off the bench in the 83rd minute.

Belgium went down to a 2-1 defeat against France at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. Arthur Theate played 90 minutes for the Red Devils, who remain third in Group A2.

Marmoush and Skiri start

Omar Marmoush and Egypt faced Mauritania for the second time in the space of a few days in qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations. Egypt followed up the 2-0 win in the first meeting with a 1-0 away victory, maintaining their perfect record in Group C – four matches, 12 points. Marmoush played 84 minutes in Nouakchott.

Tunisia, on the other hand, took just one point from their double-header against Comoros. The Eagles of Carthage picked up a 1-1 draw at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan on Tuesday evening, with Ellyes Skhiri featuring for 68 minutes. Tunisia are still top of Group A

Three Eagles in U21 EURO qualifying

The qualification competition for the 2025 European Under-21 Championship has finished. Germany, who had already sealed their place in the tournament, ended their campaign with a 3-3 draw against Poland in Lodz. Ansgar Knauff, who featured in all 10 qualifiers for the German U21s and scored two goals, played one half.

Hugo Ekitiké and France will have to go through the play-offs. Due to the 2-1 defeat to Austria – the Eintracht striker played 78 minutes in Nancy – the French youngsters missed the chance to claim top spot in Group H.

Switzerland, however, will not be at EURO 2025 in Slovakia. In a battle of first against second, Aurèle Amenda, who played the entirety of the game, and the Swiss were beaten 3-1 by Romania and dropped to third place.

Comfortable win for Collins and U20s

Finally, the crowd at the Stadion am Zoo in Wuppertal witnessed five goals, all of them for the hosts as the German U20 side thrashed Ghana 5-0 in a friendly. Nnamdi Collins came on in the 69th minute.
