Eintracht’s Mexican duo Carlos Salcedo and Marco Fabián both featured in their country’s 1-0 victory over Scotland at the Estadio Azteca in the early hours of Sunday morning. Centre-back Salcedo started the game before being substituted at half-time, while Fabián entered the fray with an hour played. It was the last warm-up game in North America for Mexico, who face a litmus test against Denmark this Saturday before their World Cup campaign kicks off against Germany on 17 June.
Rebic at Anfield
DFB Cup hero Ante Rebic got to play on the hallowed turf of Liverpool’s Anfield stadium for the Croatian national team in their friendly against Brazil yesterday. The winger started on the right side of attack before being substituted in the 64th minute with the score at 0-0, but it finished 2-0 to the South Americans.
Meanwhile, Eintracht midfielder Gelson Fernandes watched on from the bench for 90 minutes as Switzerland drew 1-1 against Spain last night.
