When the World Cup kicks off in Russia next week, a number of Eintracht Frankfurt players will be in action for their countries – seven to be precise. Serb Mijat Gaćinović will not be among them as he was cut from the provisional squad by national team coach Mladen Krstajic. His teammate Luka Jović will be there, though.
Special match for Mexicans
Mexican duo Carlos Salcedo and Marco Fabián will also be on the plane to Russia and could feature in their team’s opening group match against Germany on 17 June. The other Eintracht players selected are Makoto Hasebe for Japan, Ante Rebić for Croatia, Gelson Fernandes for Switzerland and future Eintracht goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow, who is part of the Denmark squad.
