“Sign off properly”

Adi Hütter again directed the focus fully on the final match of the season and hinted at runouts for players who have not featured much lately.

Adi Hütter on…

…the task in the last match of the season: “The most important thing is that we sign off properly in the last game of the season. We're unbeaten at home in a year. We want to maintain that proud record and come out on top. We also have a duty to the Bundesliga with Freiburg playing for seventh place.”

…last weekend: “The disappointment is still very much there for myself and the whole team. It’s very frustrating that we didn’t manage to accomplish something historic together. It’s not what any of us wanted, but we haven’t produced the required performances in the last few weeks.”

We’ll certainly do everything we can to close out the season with a win and 60 points.

Head coach Adi Hütter

…team news: “There will be changes against Freiburg. Sebastian Rode and Djibril Sow won't be able to play. One or two others have staked their claim in recent weeks and will be involved. We’ll certainly do everything we can to close out the season with a win and 60 points. That’s something I’ll also consider when selecting the team.”

…the tactical switch over the course of the season: “The system with two number 10s came about because you're always thinking about the best solution for the team. We've developed a lot of players, and I want to single out Tuta in particular. He offers promise for the future.”

…his feelings about leaving: “I look back on three wonderful years. Right now I have mixed feelings as the disappointment from the last few games is still very present. Nevertheless, I’ve had some very nice, emotional moments here. I can only thank the club, the board, the supervisory board, my staff and the fans for their incredible support. It’s been great working together. I will remember my time here very fondly because Eintracht Frankfurt have made me into a better coach.”
