“We play well together as a team”

Almamy Toure tells us how training is going at the moment, and what the goals are for the new season.

Almamy Toure on…

...this morning’s training session: “It was really warm today but you get used to that. We’re currently putting in a lot of physical work so that’s obviously tough and very intensive. There’s enough time in between sessions though to recover properly.”

…the breaks between the morning and afternoon sessions: “I get myself checked out by our team doctor and like to go and get some treatment from the physios. Then I tend to go home, have something to eat, relax and then come back fit and rested for the second training session.”

If we can keep this mentality going and carry it over into the matches, then we’ll be able to do good things once the new season starts.

Almamy Toure

…the main focuses of the training sessions: “In the future, we want to be able to get the ball forward more quickly and at the same time be more compact. The squad has more or less remained the same, which means that we already know that we play well together as a team. The new players we’ve signed make us more flexible and that’ll be an advantage.”

…the team’s goals: “I think we have a good squad and due to the fact that we’ll be playing fewer matches than last season, we’ll be able to take a more aggressive approach every week out on the pitch. I can already see in each training session how much drive everyone’s got and how much they’re enjoying it. If we can keep this mentality going and carry it over into the matches, then we’ll be able to do good things once the new season starts.”
