Sandcastles - Transfer - Supporters - Shirt Numbers

Time for another news update on the recent happenings at Eintracht Frankfurt: More test matches have been played, a new Eagle has joined, a lot of season tickets have been sold, the shirt numbers have been announced. Plus you can win great prices if you join our summer holiday sandcastle competition! Read all the latest below.

New Eagle: Karim Matmour

More new faces at the club - Matthias Lehmann of FC St. Pauli, Thomas Kessler of 1. FC Köln, Constant Djakpa of Bayer Leverkusen and Stefan Bell of Mainz 05 have already joined the Eagles. The latest transfer is Karim Matmour of Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 26 year old offensive midfielder (156 Bundesliga matches, 14 goals for SC Freiburg and M'gladbach) comes as a replacement in right midfield for Patrick Ochs who is now at VfL Wolfsburg. Welcome to Frankfurt to all of our new signings!! 

Sandcastle Competition – WIN WIN WIN

The football summer break is short this year, with only eight weeks between the last match of 2010/11 in mid May and the start of 2. Bundesliga in 10 days time. Hopefully enough time for the faithful Eintracht fans to go on a well deserved summer holiday. You can now win great prizes when you partake in our special Summer Holiday Competition. Simply choose between the two themes ‘Stadium’ or ‘Eagle’ and build a sandcastle on your local beach, lakeside or even at your kids’ playground.

Send in some images of your artwork via Email and do not forget to include hometown and first name. The best sandcastles will be posted on www.eintracht.de after the summer, and the most creative sand architects will win great Eintracht prizes! Get digging!

Matchday 1 To 9 & First Cup Round

The fixture list of the coming season had been announced for some time, now the dates and kick off times of matchdays 1 to 9 have been confirmed. Eintracht's first match of the season will be away to SpVgg Greuther Fürth on Friday 15th of June at 20.30h CET. View the full fixture list HERE.

In the first round of the German DFB-Pokal the Eagles will meet lower league team Hallescher FC (fourth division). The match will take place on the 30th of July at 15.30h CET at the Paul-Greifzu stadium in Dessau-Roßlau.

Strong Support

Strong support for the Eagles! 22,500 season tickets have been sold for the coming season 2011/12 in 2. Bundesliga. As always Eintracht Frankfurt can rely on their faithful fans during 'mission immediate re-promotion'!

Test Matches

Eintracht kept the unbeaten run in their set of test matches alive beating Swiss Europa League club Young Boys Bern 3-1. They met the former captain of the Eagles Christoph Spycher in Switzerland who was at Eintracht for five years. The match against Steaua Bucarest was called off.
