Rodrigo Zalazar will be a permanent FC Schalke 04 player from the 2022/23 season onwards after the mandatory purchase option, which was agreed as part of Eintracht Frankfurt’s original loan deal with the Gelsenkirchen club back in August 2021, was activated. The Eagles will have the opportunity to trigger a buy-back clause in Zalazar’s contract further down the line.
After joining Eintracht from Malaga in 2019, midfielder Zalazar spent time on loan at Korona Kielce and FC St. Pauli before joining Schalke last summer. The 22-year-old’s Eagles contract was due to expire in 2023.
