Rode, Alario and Tuta back in training

Three players return, Max and Jakic continue their recoveries – just like Onguéné, who is back in Frankfurt from his loan spell ahead of schedule.

The Eagles still have three training sessions before their Bundesliga Matchday 32 encounter against 1. FSV Mainz 05. In the business end of the season, workload management plays a key role so Oliver Glasner and his coaching staff are taking no risks. That applies to Sebastian Rode, who missed last week’s trip to Sinsheim with mild muscular issues; Tuta, who dislocated his shoulder in Stuttgart a few days earlier; and Lucas Alario, who has been absent from the squad with a knee complaint.

All three have been back with their colleagues on the training pitches at Deutsche Bank Park this week as they prepare for Saturday’s home game against Mainz. In addition to tactical drills, the players also participated in an 11-vs-11 session with two goals. On the pitch next to the main group, Kristijan Jakic and Philipp Max continued their rehabilitation regimes. It was a similar story for centre-back Jérôme Onguéné, who was loaned to Salzburg at the start of the year but has returned to Frankfurt ahead of schedule to undergo a recovery programme due to a knee problem.
