Alexander Meier returns to Eintracht

The former Eintracht star will be assistant to new U-16s head coach Helge Rasche.

Alexander Meier is back at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Helge Rasche will join Eintracht Frankfurt from Hallescher FC as head coach of the club’s U-16 side, and will be assisted by Alexander Meier, who returns to Frankfurt more than two years after his last game for the Eagles.

Meier begins coaching career

Meier laced his boots for Eintracht for 14 years, scoring 137 goals in 379 competitive games and even winning the Bundesliga top scorer’s accolade in 2014/15. In 2018 he ended his time as an Eagle on a high note by jointly lifting the DFB Cup trophy first alongside captain David Abraham. Meier most recently played for the Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia, before returning to Germany in January this year.
